Learning Together is a private company with corporate headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina. Our mission is building strong school/family/community partnerships, helping children raise achievement in reading and math, and encouraging lifelong learning. Our goal is to provide highly effective supplemental programming, backed by the best customer support team in field! Since 1995, Learning Together has provided targeted academic interventions to help struggling students in elementary through middle school. We currently serve more than 300 urban, rural and suburban school districts throughout the country, including Cleveland, Ohio; Montgomery County, Maryland; Clark County, Nevada; Cherry Creek, Colorado; and Irving ISD, Texas. Our comprehensive programs offer flexible implementation with cross-age tutors or adult mentors. Our original product, Reading Together Grade Two, is a one-on-one tutorial intervention that helps second-grade students improve fluency and comprehension. It was developed by The University of North Carolina at Greensboro; Guilford County Schools, NC; Hebrew University; and the National Council of Jewish Women Research Institute for Innovation in Education. It was based on Yachad ("Together"), successfully used in Israeli schools for nearly 20 years. | Reading Together Grade Two™ was piloted for more than four years in North Carolina schools. In 2002, Learning Together used the same proven methodology to develop a continuum of other grade-level programs. Reading Together Grade Three™ builds on Grade Two strategies or intervenes with additional students. Adding strong critical thinking and writing components, it also builds the skills students need for mandated end-of-grade tests. Reading Together Intermediate™, written on the fourth-grade level, offers advanced comprehension strategies for informational and procedural texts for fourth, fifth and sixth graders. Math Together™ is an interdisciplinary program that teaches critical thinking and problem solving based on stories about key events in U.S. history. The program targets third and fourth graders, and some fifth-grade students. History Together™ takes an in-depth look at U.S. history from an African American perspective. It supplements Math Together™ or makes a perfect curriculum for Black History Month. We look forward to working with you! |
